Seoul

Strolling through Bloor Street the other day and unconsciously my friend and I has passed by Korea Town( K-town). While we were walking by, the smell of Korean food has just sink into me and I decided to reconnect with my Korean friends in Toronto and to bring me to authentic and tasty Korean restaurants. Walking through K-town, it reminds me when I was in Seoul, almost every other street, there are food. As a person really love eating, I really enjoyed my time in Seoul and hopefully the food in Toronto will serves my craving.

The first restaurant which my friend took me is in K-town. After we ordered, we got the small side dishes. They taste pretty authentic and we are able to refill as well. These side dishes are very traditional and they always come before any meal in Korea.

After having the appetizers, our food came. We ordered Kam Ja Tang and Kan Poong Ki. Kam Ja Tang is pork bone soup and Kan Poong Ki is sweet and spicy chicken. Both of them are very tasty since I like spice as well. However, my friend said the flavor is good but the Kam Ja Tang is not authentic as there should be potato inside the soup. When I was chatting with my friend, he told me in most of their meals, rice always comes with the main dish. That’s why Korean food will fill you up easily.

Other than there is a K-town in downtown, my friend told me close to Finch station, there are also a huge population of Koreans and Korean restaurant there. The week after, my friend took me to Finch and I had one of famous Korean restaurant which is 24 hours. I had korean BBQ. I notice in Toronto, there are a lot of All You Can Eat Korean BBQ, but my friend told me the authentic ones are usually not all you can eat. I had Sam Kyup Sal which is thinly sliced pork belly. There are also different ways to eat it. The way I was learnt in Seoul and how my friend taught me was similar. I first take a piece of lettuce, put some rice, sauces, spring onions and a piece of meat. Then wrap it and try to finish in one bite. I like it because when I eat it with the lettuce, I feel less greasy and the sauces are delicious.
